Poetry slam! First + Second Day

 Kia Ora Koutou

This is my first poetry slam! I look forward to sharing it with everyone here. I used two cartoon characters, Bugs Bunny And Daffy Duck. In my Clerihew poems. I hope you enjoy!

Summer learning journey

On my second run of minecraft coding, I chose Gremlin because he looks like green lantern from DC. First I had to place bamboo on dirt. I counted how long and wide the blocks were. I made my agent move 1 block then place 3 times. I did it twice, then it somehow instaplaced all the bamboo. I was extremely confused. I found the button and when the secret room opened it had a picture of Yeti and pixie. I chose Yeti because he knew how to do a time split. The next time split I did was the painting of Mona Lisa. Her fountain was broken. so she was sad. So I got to work fixing it. It was fairly easy. the button was not that well hidden. The suspects were Yeti, and Banshee. I chose Yeti because I was almost certain it was him. Next there was a pilot and his plane. but there were holes in the runway. He could definitely not take off. Once I filled in the holes the button was very easy. On the banners were Yeti and Rascal. I chose Yeti. Then on my screen it said time agent captured..

Summer learning journey

When I started my coding activity I spawned into a space lab. To start coding I had to choose an agent. I chose Yeti because of his golden eyes. The first coding task I completed was to help a man get his Trumpet. I have coded before so I had a bit of a head start. When I got the man his Trumpet, I had to find a button to go back to the lab. But When I pressed the button a room opened. It had a picture of two agents. Pixie and Rascal. I chose Rascal because because I did not think the culprit was Pixie. Then I got sent back to the space lab. Next I warped to around 2780 BCE. My mission was to help an architect inspire the king by building a triangle but with my agent. I think it was the hardest activity because you have to start by placing sand at the opposite side of my work place. By the time I got the hang of it, it became much easier. When I found the next button, another room opened. Inside there were two more pictures. It was Pixie and Banshee. I choose Pixie because she was on two of the pictures. Next I had to help Apollo 11 get onto the moon. I think it was the easiest activity because I was told how to do it. When I found the button I saw pixie again. When I picked her again it said the time thief was found. When she went into her container she said she would be back. She broke the metal bars, went into the time machine and time-warped into another timeline. I wonder what will happen next time...

Stranded

 Stranded

My life in school has been tough. I have booked a private flight for the Christmas holidays to New York to get back on my feet.

The holidays have come, and I am very excited. I even packed toilet paper because of how cheap it is.

 I am very skilled with flint and steel so maybe I can make some pocket money by showing off. 

My summer and winter clothes are very important during the drastic weather changes 

Finally, the day of the flight has arrived. I boarded the plane but just as the door closed I saw the infamous no-no Noah. I wondered if he would even go to New York. I nearly collapsed in relief that there was a safety kit and a parachute. When I sat down I wondered how Noah actually became a pilot.

 

A while after we started moving, a storm hit over a small island. Noah did not take any notice of it and flew right past it. A lightning strike struck the plane and we started going down. I rushed to grab the parachute, safety kit and my bag. I jumped out and loosened the parachute.

The closer I got to the island, the bigger it became. I was confused, I was hungry. 

Day 1

The sandy environment felt very weird in shoes. It was like quicksand. There was a huge coconut tree in front of me. I wondered if I would be able to climb it. I saw the plane, slowly sinking in. I knew I could not pull out. There were lots of bits and bobs around the plane. I started taking out all of the more tiny bits that were not that heavy.

While I was taking out most of the pieces, they were straight. They were all sharp enough. I stuck them in the coconut tree to get up. There was a really loose coconut. I nudged it and it fell. When I climbed down there was a very little hole in it.  I ripped out two of the poles, got out the safety kit. I found a knife and some duct tape so I started carving a straw out of the pole. 

It worked well but I had to suck super hard and stand at the top of the tree.

 I decided to make a shelter at the top of the tree. In the safety kit I also saw some plastic sheeting. So I made a door, walls and a roof. I also made a little hole in the wall for the straw. I went to sleep.

Day 2

When I woke up it was warm. I wanted to have more food so I walked further into the island.  I found a banana on the ground. I looked up and there were lots of bananas up in a tree. I went back to my camp to get some poles. When I got back to the banana tree the banana disappeared. There was a footprint, again I went back to camp and got a knife from the safety kit. I went on a hunt to find what made the footprints. A while later I saw the banana skin. I wondered What animal it was. I saw a human-like face in the bushes. I dropped my knife in shock. It jumped out…

It was an ape, I was disappointed. But I took it back to my camp. And went to sleep.

Day 3

When we woke up I got a bucket and we started to try fishing. I put my bucket into the water, then sat it up near the water. Ahead of time I carved a sharp spear to try to get fish. When the fish came I dove into the water and threw the spear. It missed sadly, but the ape rushed in, grabbed the spear and hit the fish. He gave the fish to me. I put it into the bucket. I had finally thought of a name. Gonzo the ape. I called Gonzo and he came right to me. I gutted the fish and put a stick through it to put it on the fire. When it was ready, I ripped it in half. I wondered if Gonzo had thought it was nice. But I needed a drink. I brought gonzo with me. Once I had a drink from the coconut I got Gonzo to drink some of it too.

Day 4

When I woke up I did not see Gonzo. I went to the banana tree, he was not there, but I saw some strange eyes. Whatever it was, it just stumbled. I went to the fishing place. Gonzo had the spear and the bucket and he caught three fish. I stopped him because I knew we may not be able to eat anymore. I spent the rest of the day teaching Gonzo how to gut a fish. He failed quite a few times so we had to do a bit more fishing. Gonzo got eight fish so he started to gut. He only gutted 2 of them properly. I put the other six fish by the banana tree. It was good enough. He was able to put a stick through them. When they were heated up enough we ate them. They tasted especially good. We had the last of the coconut juice. We were both full, so we went to sleep

Day 5 

We woke up to a landslide. So we went outside to check how close it was. But that was the biggest mistake we made. There were dinosaurs of all sizes running past. They ran right through us and they started hurting us, but we could not do anything. That is how we both died.

We have been learning about healthy eating. Here is my food prymaid I created.

Scientific Procedure Writing

 We have been doing scientific experiments and then writing the procedure up.

Amazing detergent

   

I wonder what will happen when I put milk, food colouring, and detergent in a container? 

I think It will look colourful.

• Walk to your kitchen and grab a container, 5 bottles of food colouring, milk and some detergent.

Step 1 find a container and some milk, pour milk into the container. (but leave space for the food colouring and detergent)

Step 2  Pour 3 drops of each food colouring bottle into the container then a bit of detergent.

Step 3: Use patience to your advantage, by waiting and watching.

Results: It looks amazingly colourful.

Conclusion: Do not blow or stir it.

Instructions

Make a big volcano and plan a jump you can choose if you want it high or long.

Make a hole in the volcano(remember to make it go down pretty low)

Make an exit way in the volcano to the jump. (but also clean up when you finish)

 Mr CooCoo ran from Daymion. He accidentally hurt a Chicken when trying to get a egg. Then a Rooster yelled, and Daymion started chasing the tummy rumbling CooCoo. Mr CooCoo ran and hid behind a tree but then his tummy rumbled! Daymion started running up a tree because he saw a hole in the tree. Mr CooCoo did not notice there was a root inside his pocket! CooCoo thought he was running like the flash! CooCoo saw a log and tried to jump over it, but he swiped Daymions face. CooCoo saw a shotgun pointed at him.

When you decorate

Matariki

We have been reading about Matariki. Here is some information I have learnt about it.

One moment

Weta :   Has a brown\black body with plates that look like they have been glued on. A Weta has a very big body with tiny legs so there are six legs which are very strong! The back of the legs have these sharp claws which have three claws.

The weta has this antenna which feels for things because the weta is blind. The weta has a good sense of smell so it can know if there are leaves in front of them!

 The Weta is an animal that usually comes out when it is wet.

Weta nibbles like a bunny but a little bit slower because of the size of the bunny. You usually see a weta in the zoo because of how tiny they are unless you see them on the internet like me!

The plates on the Weta look a bit like a small version of an armadillo. A Weta is bigger than most insects.

A Weta is a native species of New Zealand. A weta is still fascinating and scientist’s still wonder about legs and all the Weta’s body parts.

Lockdown Diary

Lockdown in 2020 During this time in lockdown, because of Covid-19, I have been having fun. By watching TV, playing on my i-pad, going on the trampoline with Dom, sometimes going out with dad, helping mum clean out the car. Then I do my music on facetime each Thursday, I like talking in bed with my family in the morning because we all don’t have to go straight away. We had Easter Just Will Dom And I. Me and will got 2 big boxes each which included a big egg and had some more treats at the top and about 5 little packets. The easiest was the big box on the fort with a little chocolate with some speckled eggs. The hardest 2 was a big box behind our driveway by some bushes then it was a kit-cat behind a hose by a water tap then I had all my speckled eggs, my kit-cat, I did not like one of the little packets which had a marshmallow chocolate so I let dad have it.
